Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford picked up a knee problem during his team’s Under-23 fixture against Bristol City Under-23s on Friday afternoon.
Bamford was part of a strong Under-23 outfit, with the likes of Jamal Blackman, Jack Harrison and Lewis Baker also included.
The centre-forward’s inclusion might have come at a price, however, with the summer arrival from Middlesbrough picking up an injury in the 30th minute of the Under-23 fixture.
Bamford opened the scoring in his team’s 5-0 win, but departed following a clash of legs inside the Bristol City box, and was clearly in discomfort as he left the field.
It is understood that Leeds will assess the damage over the weekend, but there is a concern that 6ft ace Bamford could now be set for a spell on the sidelines.

The 25-year-old is yet to register in five Championship appearances for Leeds this season, but was on the scoresheet in the EFL Cup against Bolton Wanderers.
