According to The Daily Mirror’s John Cross, Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Odion Ighalo on loan.
What’s the word?
The Red Devils have reportedly been on the look-out for a new centre-forward for a number of weeks and months, with suggestions that the club were targeting the likes of Mario Mandzukic and Callum Wilson, amongst others.

Now, Cross has claimed United have been given the opportunity to sign former Watford striker Ighalo in a last minute loan move. It’s suggested that due to the Chinese Super League being delayed due to the coronavirus, the Nigerian is flying to Europe, and could potentially secure a switch before the deadline.
Last-ditch
As is always the case when the deadline approaches, things can get fairly hectic, and desperate too. At 30-years-old, Ighalo hardly represents the future of United’s attack, and a loan swoop for the forward certainly makes sense. He has previous Premier League experience with his time at Watford, scoring 17 goals in 55 games in the competition.

Bringing him to Old Trafford on a temporary basis simply adds another body to their forward ranks, but doesn’t tie them down to a player who may not represent a bona-fide first-team star. So whilst he may not be the high-profile name that will get tongues wagging, United could certainly do a lot worse than swooping for Ighalo.
Meanwhile, Manchester United fans have hailed this player’s immense display against Man City.
