Shearer has named his Team of the Season so far, and the Premier League's official account has posted the side that he has picked. And in what could be seen as a shocking twist, neither Arsenal nor Manchester City are represented. The Gunners are currently fourth in the Premier League table while City are second.

Having snubbed City and Arsenal, Shearer has instead selected the following XI: Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest); Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest), Antonee Robinson (Fulham); Moises Caicedo (Chelsea), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool); Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).
