West Ham United have had a positive transfer window so far, bringing in four well-known Premier League players.
Pablo Zabaleta joined at the end of the season from Manchester City on a free transfer, while goalkeeper Joe Hart signed on a season-long loan from the two-time English champions.
Stoke City’s Marko Arnautovic has also become a Hammer, and on Monday night, the East London outfit confirmed the arrival of Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen in a £16m deal.
The Mexico international moves to the London Stadium with big expectation following his five-year spell at Manchester United, in which he scored 59 goals and won two Premier League titles.
During his most recent three-year stint at Leverkusen, Hernandez found the back of the net 39 times in 76 outings.
It is no surprise that Sullivan is delighted to get the deal done, and he has made a very bold and brave prediction about Hernandez’s importance to the team before the forward has even kicked a ball.
In an interview with talkSPORT, Sullivan said:
“I think he is potentially the best player who has ever come to the club. In recent years, he is probably the best proven goalscorer we have signed since we have been at the club. He’s done it in the Premier League with Manchester United.”
